About Peterhead
Peterhead is a town in
the North East of Scotland with a population of

The year of 1593 saw the construction of Peterhead’s first harbour, Port Henry, which has since grown into Europe’s premier white fish landing port. Over 90,000 tonnes of fish, with a value of around £60m are now landed at Peterhead, which is also base to over 550 fishermen.
Peterhead has a relatively diverse economy which includes food processing, textiles and service industries. Fishing is one of the most important industries to the town, however, in the1970s Peterhead also became a major oil industry service centre.
Peterhead’s twin town is Alesund in Norway.
